What the heck! Everyone I know is getting cancer.
Here's my list:
Aunt Jane: just had a double mastectomy
Lisa's mom: just had a double mastectomy
Uncle Wayne: lung cancer
Peter Jennings: lung cancer
Uncle Jim: prostate cancer
Dana Reeves: lung cancer
Reba: brain cancer (but she is still going strong 2 years after her expected "death date")
(ok, so I don't personally know Peter or Dana, but I am saddened none the less that they have cancer.)
So for my 28th birthday present to myself, I will stop being a social smoker. It's stupid, I know. But I feel like I should stop pretending I am invincible.
Angie's random quote of the day:
"I can write my name in the dust on the piano."
Lance's hilarious response to my christmas email:
my email:
I thought I would send an email to verify this year’s plan for giving gifts for Christmas. Last year we only gave to the grandkids (and mom and jerry), do we want to do this again? I figure with all of our expanding families, it might be easiest to just give to Catherine, gavin and max.
lance's email:
I'm also preparing to buy Christmas presents for 2006... so let's make sure we plan ahead. Also, if any of you are planning on having any kids in the next year you better let me know by this weekend, otherwise it'll be '07 before they get anything. Angie - Max was a bit of a surprise for me, so I hope Gavin can handle sharing by this Christmas.
You can never plan too early ;)

Thank you for quitting smoking. I have been trying to get you to stop for years now. I can understand though that Peter Jennings dying of cancer is more convincing than me, your best friend, asking you to stop because I care about your health. Whatever works I guess. For anyone that gets to go out with Olivia on a regular basis and have the opportunity to keep her from smoking: HOLD HER TO THIS!!!! yank the cigarette out of her mouth if she even attempts to light up. If she gets upset tell her to call me.
Laine,
I was doing really well for a long time! I quit for like 5 years!!! But you go through what I went through with Brent (and Jeff) and then with Chad (and James) and see if you don't light up.
Ok, I know...you wouldn't light up. You would just drink a bucket of margaritas and then call me at midnight to sing, "My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard, and their like it's better than yours, damn right it's better than yours, i would teach you but i would have to charge."
i digress...i will make a concerted effort to quit. i have done it many times in the past and i have faith i can do it again. and this time, maybe it will stick. :)
thanks for caring!
No one has ever gotten lung cancer from Margaritas or milkshakes :)
true dat, true dat...
Olivia, I think you are stretching the truth by saying that "everyone you know" includes Peter Jennings. Repent!
who are you? and i do know (knew) peter jennings. we had best friend necklaces.
so there!!!
Peter - god rest your soul, you will be missed
a ha! the repenter is Tony.
