Cerealously

I emailed my mom last night's story of Crunchy Corn Bran. In the email I wrote "Seriously, it's meant to be..."
She responded by saying "Don't you mean: Cerealously, it's meant to be..."

She's right. That is exactly what I meant!

You had me at Cat Feces

Kurt taught me how to play Nerts last night. Then I proceeded to kick his ass! I am the champion and ruler of all that is Nerts!

I've Got Needs

Sadia was in town from San Fransisco and Kurt came home from North Carolina. So we all got together (and Precious too!) for a drink and some conversation. Yeah for friends!

More Mamosa, Please

And the holiday ended with a huge feast. Merry Christmas! (And from Gavin - Ba Humbug!)

Preparing for Santa

My mom spent a lot of time decorating the house. It was so beautiful and festive! But I still think the tree looks a lot like Charlie Brown's tree.

Home for the Holidays

"(Gasp!) I was good!" - Gavin Crees, 3 years old, at seeing the gifts under the tree.

A Million Little Pieces

I started reading this book last night and could not put it down. Laine gave it to me as part of my Christmas present, and I can not believe how powerful of a book it is. It is a difficult read at first, some of the sentences were so graphic they made me sick to my stomach, but this book is a brutal and honest portrayal of drug and alcohol addiction. Thanks Laine for the great book!!

Art + Science

Laine - This is where I was when you called last night. I got my hair trimmed at an awesome salon in Evanston. Then I went home and started watching "The 40 Year Old Virgin", which I have to finish watching tonight. Sorry I missed your call!! I hope you have a better day today!

Also, I have a prayer request for everyone. My friend/co-worker, Hollie, found out yesterday that she has breast cancer. She is really young, still in her 30's, and she's just an awesome lady. I bowl with her every now and then. So keep her in your prayers, for a safe and fast recovery. Thanks!!

Gift Giving

Last night, Kurt and I celebrated Christmas together. The gifts were very thoughtful and I am really looking forward to seeing Wicked with him. (Not to mention, I love my new track jacket. His artistic talent amazes me every day.)

But my favorite gift was spending the evening with him. Singing to each other, breaking dishes, and laughing so hard I had trouble standing. I believe 2006 will be a wonderful year for both of us.

Inner Town Pub

Off we went to The Inner Town Pub, where Ashley, Michelle, and Kate met up with us. We shot some pool and drank some beer. The perfect way to fight off the freezing cold temperatures of Chicago. And thanks to Kurt's press check, we had ourselves some lovely Back Street Boys glow sticks. I love that all of our friends can come together and have a great time!

Pre-Bar

Kurt had some friends in from Florida this weekend. So some of us gathered together to celebrate their arrival to Chi-town. And I learned how to play a new game that night. Bullshit!

Holiday Help

The best way to recover from the annoying braid lady and sore muscles from lifting boxes is to eat Chipotle! Yeah for lunchtime! (And thanks Ash, for helping me laugh through my frustrations. At least I don't say "Bye!" 50 times in a row!)

Jammin' Out

When the president of the company grabs my arm to drag me on to the dancefloor, I gracefully decline and try to hide behind Ashley.
Yet when Kanye comes on, we are all on the dancefloor shaking our money-makers! Salute to Kanye, Beyonce, and all the ladies who made Winter Jam a ton of fun!

(And we even got some shots of Andrea! Woo hoo!)
