this post is for the ladies out there, so Billy and Brian you can stop reading right about now. this is mushy and girly and not very dirty or sweaty.
so I gave him my number and he has yet to use it.
do i dare keep my fingers crossed? is it too much to ask for him to call me and say, let's meet right now. drop what you are doing because i guarantee that we will have more fun tonight, together than apart. let's explore. you haven't been to the Charleston? well let's go discover it tonight and see what it brings us. And don't forget to bring your smile and your sense of fun and go ahead and leave your fears and worries at home cause i promise not to break your heart or lead you on. and i will be calling again, just know that now. so come relaxed and yourself and let's enjoy our Monday night. cause i think we may have more monday nights to enjoy together, but they can't start until we drop everything and meet.
being optomistic is so damn hard sometimes.
and i know the grass is always greener (laine and nikki) but being single sucks. dating is cruel and the whole PC bullshit rules to dating, like "wait three days to call" and "laugh at his jokes even if they aren't funny", is total crap. and i always fail at playing by the rules anyway. and it's the boring ones that call right away and the interesting ones ("hey you are someone that i would actually want to be friends with and you are cute so good god imagine if we dated!") that seem to disappear into the background. and wasn't this easier in college?!? you would go to Martini's, sit in the beer garden, get tipsy/giggly drunk off Cosmos, and then some guy would just chat it up with you. and you knew that you would meet again for Flip Night at the Airliner.
Things have gotten tougher as I have gotten older. and i go up another year in less than two weeks. (again, that optomistic thing is fucking hard)
I mean there has to be someone out there who loves live music, sees good films, prefers a good dark pub (Danny's) over some techno/ Lincoln Park/ striped shirt/high heels and blue jeans sort of bar. someone who appreciates lazy Sunday afternoons, makes me laugh without much effort, and would be down with seeing David Sedaris read from his latest and greatest (no offense mom, i loved you as my date too).
alright, i feel better now that i have vented. i had all sunday night (while drinking a Berghoff lager and listening to Murry sing "Heartbreak, old friend, Goodbye, it's me again") to stew over this blog.
on another note: I saw the film El Bola this weekend. I love well made films. They are so lovely.

I know what I need, a little Ani DiFranco. She'll do the trick! Perhaps a little Dilated, I haven't heard that one in awhile.
Sadia, if we both still lived in LA (don't get me wrong, you belong in San Fran) I would be showing up at your place with a bottle of red and a few cds. And after a few hours we would go check out a cool DJ at Nacionale and then I would throw up outside your rental car window, going 80 on the 110.
how about i just call you tonight instead?
i spent the evening listening to Ani DiFranco, Tenacious D, and Josh Church's Greatest Hits Vol 2. And it worked! I am in a great mood today.
Sadia, don't forget to send me the photos from Japan. I'll put them up for you. :)
