Alpha Dog

Michelle and I checked out the film Alpha Dog, last night. I was really surprised by how good the film was, although the story was very difficult to watch.
Justin Timberlake did a great job in his role but the best actor, in my mind, was Ben Foster. Holy crap he's an intense actor!! But back to Justin, he did a great job and I was impressed with his acting abilities (especially in the final scenes).
I give this two thumbs up!

And the Award Goes To

Cameron, this was your big chance to show the world that you don't need Justin. That you're beautiful and athletic and....cool. So you chose now to walk around on national television looking like a feather duster?
Cameron - you are the winner of this year's Fugliest Globe Award.
Congrats.

Now go home, get into pjs and eat a pint of ice cream, for pete's sake. You just broke up with the hottest man in the world. You and Reese's ex should form a club called "We Done Just Fucked Up".

A Fly on the Wall

Here is your chance to hear what goes on in the minds of those attending the Golden Globes.

Vanessa: "What's a fur coat without a rat's nest? See my hair does make sense with this outfit. It's called coordinating. My eyebrows hurt."

Sienna: "Tending sheep is hard work. I think I should start yodeling, maybe it will distract people from staring at my braid."

Jennifer Love: "What am I doing here? How did I get invited to this?"

Reese: "I am hot. Ryan, you done fucked up." (Seriously, Reese, those are some fabulous shoes and I LOVE your hair. Well played, Reese.)

Breakfast

Angie gave me a great tip for a healthy, filling breakfast. One packet of Go Lean Honey and Cinnamon oatmeal with one peeled, cored, and chopped apple. I've been using Fiji and Gala apples and it's really delicious! Lots of protein and fiber, so it's good for you too! And it doesn't taste like normal, soggy oatmeal. There is actual texture to this stuff. I can't recommend this enough!

DVD

I bought the DVD, An Inconvenient Truth, on Saturday. If you are looking to purchase this movie, it's a bit difficult to locate because it's not packaged in the typical plastic container. It's sold in a sleeve of paper. Less waste. Makes sense.

Shopping with my Sister

Angie came in to town this weekend to hang out and we had sooo much fun! We spent most of Saturday shopping, I've never been to so many stores in one day! And I've never carried as many bags around as we did that day. Shopping is fun! We both bought new shoes and I'm bummed I forgot to get a pic of Angie's new Nikes. They're awesome: orange, gold and velco...super kick ass. I went for some new wine colored, patent leather, kitten heel shoe. Aren't they pretty!
And then we came home, put on our pjs and had a movie marathon.
Thanks, Ang, for visiting this weekend. It's just what I needed. :)

Nerd-Hot

I was having a discussion last night with a friend of mine, Lee, about the idea of 'nerd-hot' people. We were able to easily name many women who we would deem 'nerd-hot': Natalie Portman, Cindy Crawford, Gina Davis, etc. Yet after much brainstorming, I was unable to think up any famous men whom I believe fall under the category of nerd-hot.
So, my readers, I am asking you to help me brainstorm a list. I want names of famous men who are sexier because of their intelligence.

A Scanner Darkly = A Scanner Don't-ly

I watched A Scanner Darkly last night and sure the graphics are cool and extremely realistic, but the dialogue was snoozeville. I couldn't even finish watching it.

Children of Men

In 20 years,
women are infertile.
No children.
No future.
No hope.
But all that can change
in a heartbeat.

Adam and I saw Children of Men yesterday and it was as good as I hoped it would be.

Hot Chocolate

Last night was Sandy's surprise party at Hot Chocolate. It was a ton of fun and the food was incredible! But the restaurant, who is owned by famed pastry chef Mindy Segal, is known for it's desserts. We finished our meal with some creme brulee with carmalized figs, banana pudding, chocolate souffle with homeade chocolate ice cream, and sugared dougnuts with a dark chocolate fondue. yummmmm.......

Bye Linds

We had a goodbye party for Lindsay on Thursday. Nothing says 'we love you' like a stick o' onion rings.

Continued Prayers, Please

Right before Christmas, I wrote a quick note asking for prayers for my friend Jenn. She found her mom on the floor, just a few days before Christmas. We later learned her mom had a massive stroke and had lost the ability to speak, swallow, move, etc. It was pretty grim.
Jenn and her sister decided yesterday to move their mom to a hospice facility. By doing so they are also removing her feeding tube and taking her off the medication. The doctors think it will be about a week or two until she passes away.
I can't imagine how difficult that decision must have been as well as how overwhelmingly sad Jenn and her sister must be. I ask that you continue keeping them in your prayers over the next couple of weeks. I believe they could use all the strength they can get and I firmly believe that the power of pray can be felt by others.

Heap it On

Today I am listening to the Imogen Heap album, Speak for Yourself. I first heard her music on the Last Kiss soundtrack and I really dig her!

Happy New Year!!

We rang in the New Year at a local dive bar. The drunk men sure were persistant in asking Liz to dance! At least this one had a voicebox!! :)
I hope everyone has a safe and happy 2007!
