Alive and Wired

Great news, everyone! Murry’s band, the Old 97s, has a live album coming out, titled “Alive and Wired”. It is available for purchase on Tuesday, September 20th. Support my friends, buy their tunes!!

Here’s how fast this all went down:
Back in June, when they were doing a gig at Park West, Murry and I met up for coffee after soundcheck. He mentioned they had recorded some live stuff a couple weeks prior, at a gig in Texas. Then when Murry came through in July, filming part of The Break-Up and performing at Rock Around the Block, he told me then that all the guys were able to agree on 6 songs to cut in order to come up with a 30 song, double-disc live album. Now it’s September and the album is being released.

I can’t believe how quickly they turned this album out. Especially since they have been touring non-stop all summer long.

Anyways, go out and get this album. It’s good rocker-billy tunes that will have you tappin’ your foot for hours.

Still no word when Murry’s coming back through, but I promise to keep you all posted. I do know that Rhett is doing a solo gig at The Abbey Pub in a couple of weeks. Is anyone up for joining me in even more live music?

This really has nothing to do with your post, but my email is down so I thought I'd send the note this way...
The hotel Nortney is staying at this week in Orlando has nominated her as 'guest of the week'. This is comperable to 'McDonald's Dollars', 'Dominoes Pizza Buy 1 Get 1 Free, or a 'Golden Globe' so it really isn't anything to get excited about. The one nice thing is that you get upgraded to the Presidential Suite... except in her case. It appears that Tommy Lee is in town this week for a Montley Crew concert and he has made himself 'guest of the week'. There is something wrong with society if a durged-up, wife-beating, vocalist-wanna-be, village-idiot with a well known package gets the 'presidential' suite while a hard working beautiful woman who is 'guest of the week' gets free parking instead...
And yes, I will be trying to get his autograph...

oh my god! Tommy Lee is there! He is my soul mate. Seriously, SOUL MATE. (and not just because of his well known package, although that helps)

Tell Nourtney she should ask for free room service, free drycleaning, or free alcohol to make up for not getting the Presidential Suite.
