Kramer vs. Kramer

There is nothing funny about what came out of this man's mouth. Where does that sort of hatred come from? I did catch David Letterman last night when Michael Richards went live via satelite to apologize for his actions and words but I also know that The Laugh Factory asked him back for Saturday night and he said he would apologize then but didn't. Then Sunday the video was posted on TMZ and now that the world has seen his ugliness, now he's apologizing. Now that he's gotten caught, that is.
And how horrible was it that audience members on David Letterman were laughing during his apology? Like they thought it was a comedy skit. Jerry Seinfeld finally spoke up and told them to shut up; that this wasn't a laughing matter.

This morning on The Today Show, both Meredith Viera and Al Roker said some pretty harsh words towards him and I believe Al muttered something about never wanting him on the show (or something like that...it was hard to understand).

I understand being angry at hecklers but I don't understand how that hatred can turn into ugliness so quickly. And it went on and on. He didn't say one comment, he went off and said some horrific statements. Man, this is the first time Kramer really didn't make me laugh.

What do you guys think? Do you think his apology is genuine or do you think it's a day late and a dollar short?

Monday Mindbender

How does someone who looks like this:

Get a guy who looks like this:

Granted, I know he's got horses on his sweater, but even with the horses, he's still f*ckin' hot.
And she is still Posh Spice. And she looks like a robotic Skeletor. I honest to God don't get it.

He's Got Mad Stage Presence

Last night my softball team got together to drink away the last of our winnings. But no matter how much we drank, there was no way the lead singer of that cover band would ever be as sexy as he thought he was. But that didn't stop Ashley and I from trying to get front row and shakin' our money maker to Sublime.

Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazahkstan

Michelle, Tim and I finally saw the film "Borat". We tried going last weekend but it was sold out. We showed up to the theater to purchase tickets for the 8pm show, but that was sold out. So was the 9pm. So was the 9:15pm. So we got tickets for the 9:45pm show. And was it worth the wait!
Flippin' hilarious! Go see this movie and be prepared to be appalled and grossed out all at once (all the while laughing your ass off).

If you loved this movie, might I also suggest seeing "Jesus is Magic" with Sarah Silverman.

Salute Your Fug Day

Today is National Salute Your Fug Day!! So in honor of the craziest Fug out there (besides Tara Reid, that is) and for his weekend vows, I would like to salute Tom Cruise and his bangs.

Mission Unfuggable III: A Play In Three Acts
ACT ONE: THE SURPRISE ARRIVAL

The Place: The Mission Impossible III junket in Rome. Unbeknownst to Philip Seymour Hoffman, his placid afternoon of talking to journalists about the role America's been dying to see him in -- as the Man Who Beats the Shit Out of Tom Cruise -- is about to be interupted by none other than Tom Cruise HIMSELF:

But Tom is not alone. He has brought three things: his weird new bangs, his tight girl jeans, and his total divorce from reality. He thinks, "AT LAST! I have arrived to SAVE THIS PRESS JUNKET! I can just sneak up behind Hoffman and SAVE THESE GLIB JOURNALISTS FROM HIS REIGN OF TERROR If I'm very, very quiet, HE'LL NEVER KNOW WHAT HIT HIM. I'M A HERO! AGAIN!"

ACT TWO: IN WHICH OUR HEROINE IS THREATENED

Tom: Hi Keri! I'm not going to look you right in the eye because my magic powers might kill you, okay? HAHAHAHHAHAHA. Want to see my imaginary Blackberry again? Wasn't that funny that time we did that the other day? I am QUITE A COMEDIAN! Maybe I'll do a sitcom next. DON'T LOOK AT ALL THE BULGING VEINS IN MY NECK. I mean it. Don't look at them, Felicity. I will eat your placenta. I mean it. NOW LET'S ACT LIKE WE'RE HAVING SO MUCH FUN SOME MORE! HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!

Keri Russell: [thinking: I wonder if my reflexes are good enough to grab this bottle, smash him over the head, and make a run for it. Dear Jesus, protect me. I'm so scared.] Hahahaha.

ACT THREE: TOM TAKES A SEAT

Philip Seymour Hoffman: It's true, America. He's batshit crazy. What can I say?

Tom: HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH HOFFMAN YOU JOKER. GOD, isn't this FUN?

Philip Seymour Hoffman: I'm not kidding.

The Charleston

After the showcase, Michelle, Amy and I went to the Charleston for some Stella and some conversation. There was a blue grass band playing that was really good! The entire evening was a lot of fun!

Food and Wine Showcase

Last night was the Food and Wine Showcase at the Museum of Contemporary Art. It really was an awesome experience and I was so grateful that Breville offered to buy my team tickets. The chefs from the top Chicago restaurants were there, preparing and offering up food and drink. Some of the featured restaurants were: 312 Chicago, Alinea, Mas, mk, moto, North Pond, Schwa, Scylla, Spring, Green Zebra, Custom House and Charlie Trotter's. Some of the food I ate (I can't believe I ate some of this and Pete, please don't be mad...): Quail egg ravioli with truffle oil, Lamb wonton, Veal with cucumber, Priscutto, Artichoke soup with hazelnut and bacon, Caramel wrapped bacon (this was delicious!), seared tuna, salmon with prissimon and yogurt sauce, Cuban pork, some jelly thing from Charlie Trotter's, and potato leak soup with mint marshmallow.
I also tried a glass of champagne, 4 red wines and 3 white wines.
What a feast!

Uh....What?

I caught about 4 minutes of Dancing with the Stars, last night. Then I promptly changed the channel to anything other than Dancing with the Stars. (I used to like the show, cause I love ballroom dancing, but I'm just not feeling this season. Anyhoo...)
Question: When the hell did A.C. Slater get an accent? In the brief interview I saw last night, he was rolling his R's and slipping the casual Spanish word into his sentences (i.e. "She's caliente!").
Huh?
A.C., enough with the act. I'm sure it's time for wrestling practice and then you need to head over to Jesse's house to try and stop her from taking speed. We don't have time for this riff raff.

"I brought you flours."

Last night Adam and I saw "Stranger than Fiction". It is flippin' hilarious! Adam enjoyed the dry sense of humor and I enjoyed all the literary references. It really is a clever film. Y'all should go see it.

Ready....Set....OK Go!!

Jimmy, Amy and I checked out the Ok Go! show last night at Logan Sq. Auditorium. It was an AWESOME show. They were extreme high energy for the whole set and they sounded so good live! At one point a man in an orange jump suit wheeled out what looked to be a round trampoline into the middle of the crowd (about 5-10 feet in front of where we were standing). Then the lead singer announces they are going to play a couple of songs in the crowd and the hand out flashlights to a bunch of people in the crowd, to shine on them while they play. And they get up on this circular wood stage and sing a couple of songs and it was so incredibly cool.
And then the encore wasn't just another song off the cd, they put on a huge photo of the lead singer's back yard and they did the "dance" to one of their songs. (You know, the one that was all of YouTube.) It was so much fun and just made all of us smile and feel super happy.

Blue Light Special

Dan's band played at The Blue Star Lounge last night, so we ventured out to support our friend and hear some fun tunes. I was able to get a couple games of pool in too! (I will eventually get photos up but right now blogger is broken. Again.)
