Keepin' it Spooky!

Last night was my band's show at The US Beer Company. We played with Marcus Ricci, For the Birds and Leathur Cheetah. The costume party was a huge hit and I was really happy to see so many people dressed up! Personally, my costume was a bit of a snore (at least compared to last year's) but since I had to wear glasses I was limited in what I could dress up as. So I went as a doctor.
Everyone loved Jimmy's "Earl" costume. He even had a Karma list with him!
It was a great time and The Regels sounded great! Thanks to everyone who came out to rock with us! Happy Halloween!

Softball Championship Drunkedness

We won first place for our softball league. Which means we won a good amount of money. Which means we decided to drink that money away. Go Team!

Vote Early and Vote Often

My friends' band, Indignant, made a rock video a couple weeks back. Their song "Not Quite Myself" is being used in an independent film, so the video goes along with the film's theme.
YouTube is having a video contest for unsigned bands. Indignant's video is in this contest and I think YOU should watch and vote for them.

Go to this website: http://www.youtube.com/contest/youtubeunderground
(You may need to submit a username and password)
Watch the Indignant video and then vote for them as the most kick ass rock band ever!

Thanks for your support!

Sawyer's Survey

Watching Sawyer get tortured all because of his love for Kate made me think of one thing: Damn He's Sexy.
I think it's Survey Time! We need to list all the reasons why Sawyer/Josh Holloway is the winner of the "Sexy Man of the Day" award. I will begin.

1. Sawyer would rather be tortured than risk Kate being harmed.
2. His hair.
3. He has a dorky side (wears dorky glasses to read books/manuscripts).

Now it's your turn.

Hot Thoughts for a Cold Day

This morning I had to scrape the frost off of my car windows. Winter is officially here, approximately 2 months before the Winter Solstice. Blech.

Here is a snippet of an email I received yesterday from my good friend, Karla. (Karla's husband, Aaron, is now working on a film starring Russell Crowe and Christian Bale.)

Aaron is in Santa Fe now. I sent a photo and bio of you along with him to show to Russell Crowe and Christian Bale. He said that as of yesterday both men had sworn to divorce their wives as testimony to their undying love for you. A few punches were thrown in a contest to win your love (unbeknownst to you). It was an exciting day on set, Aaron says. All for the love of a beautiful, intelligent, and funny woman.

Although the thought of Russell and Christian does warm me up, alas my heart belongs to another(s). John and Rodrigo.
Please send my condolences to Russ and Chris.

The Last Kiss

I've been listening to the soundtrack to The Last Kiss today. This is a beautiful album! If you like Snow Patrol, Ray LaMontagne, and Imogen Heap, then you MUST get this album.
I tell ya, that Zach Braff has good taste in music. He and I should be friends and go see shows together.
Sarah K, Adam, Jimmy...I'll be getting you a copy of this album soon.

Angels and Superheros

Angie snapped this photo of Max the other day. Is it not the cutest thing you've ever seen!? One day he will be so embarrassed that 1) she took the picture 2) she emailed it out to people and 3) I posted it on the internet.
She also got a shot of Gavin in his superhero garb. What a couple of monkeys! Love you both!!

Sinner's Sunday

Yesterday, Adam and I stopped in for 'Sinner's Sunday' at The Empty Bottle. It consisted of some great swing music, a couple of games of 9 Ball and a tasty beverage (or two). I tried to take photos of the band, but like every band I've seen in the past couple of weeks, the members jump and wiggle so much that they end up blurred on my camera. I gotta figure out how to increase my shutter speed.

Movie Madness

Today was a day for films. First, I met Precious and Sean at The Landmark and we watched The Queen. It was a good film, and Helen Merrin (who plays the Queen) did an amazing job. Her performance made the film, in my opinion. Some sections were a bit slow, but I think that was intentional as a way of showing how mundane the monarchy can be. Anyway, it was a good film and I bet Helen gets nominated for Best Actress for this one.
Then tonight, Andrea, Sarah and I headed on over to The Music Box to see Half Nelson. First off, I have never been to The Music Box before and it's an amazing theater. There is an organist who plays before the curtain is pulled up (which imagine a midnight showing of The Excorcist with a freakin' organist...*shiver*). The building is old and ornate and really just beautiful.
Second, Half Nelson is an amazing film. It's about a junior high teacher who is a crack addict. The whole film, including the soundtrack (let me hear it for the Broken Social Scene!!), was incredible. See this film, people.
Third, vitamins are amazing. Scientology Rocks! hee hee

Kelly Hogan (No Relation to Hulk Hogan)

Mike, Adam and I hung out at The Hideout on Friday night. Kelly Hogan was performing and what an amazing set it was! I will for sure be seeing her again. And the opening act was this guy named Tom Brosseau and he had an amazing voice. Can't say it enough, everyone should check these guys out.
