A Weekend with the Boys

Prayer Request

Alrighty, I gotta ask for some prayers again. This weekend, when I was in Iowa, I learned that my grandmother is having some heart troubles. I already knew her heart wasn't doing so well, but now we know that three of her valves aren't working properly. So they are going to have to perform open heart surgery to fix all three valves.
One of the side effects of her heart not working is that she has lost a lot of weight. I believe she is down to about 92 pounds. She's a pretty frail looking lady but I also know she is a very strong woman (in character and principle) and she has a very strong sense of faith.
None the less, it's major surgery and she is physically weak right now.

Tomorrow she is having an angeogram (sp?). It's when they thread something (a camera maybe?) through her vein in her leg in order to get a better view of her heart. After that procedure they will decide when to schedule the surgery.

So I could use some prayers. Not only for my grandmother's health but also for my step-dad, Jerry. This must be pretty frightening for him and I'm sure he's worried. And knowing Jerry, he's doing a lot of praying himself.
So if you could keep him in mind too, I would appreciate it.

I will post photos of this past weekend, later on today. Thanks!

Cominsky Park

Last night, Adam took me to a White Sox game. It was the annual outing for the studio he works at. I have never watched a game from Box Seating before! It was a lot of fun.
(And the limo ride to and from the park sure was swanky!)

Winter Wonderettes

My mom just got a role in the musical "Winter Wonderettes". She's one of the four main female roles/vocalists.
Yeah, mom!!

Golden Smog

Amy and I got some last minute tickets to the Golden Smog concert at The Vic. Jeff Tweety, from Wilco, was singing along with the group (and I can honestly say he didn't look as much like a Leprechaun as he did at Lolla. he's still squatty though...)
Thanks Ryan for the free tickets!!
The Vic's security were really cracking down on cameras so I had to take these photos on the sly, which is why so many of them are blurry. No flash while hiding under my jacket makes for fuzzy photos.
After the show, Amy and I headed over to the Hungry Brain for some beers. Finally just us girls at a concert! (no offense Jimmy) :)

Only You Can Prevent Forest Fires

I swear, I only walked away from the stove for like a second! Then when i returned my spoon was ablaze. (Lance, you should have seen it. You would have been pleased.)

Wag the Dog

In killing time this afternoon, I flipped on the television and saw that the film "Wag the Dog" was on. This movie came out in 1997 and it's still just as good as the first time I saw it. If you're looking for a fun film to Netflix, I would strongly suggest "Wag the Dog".

"You want me to Produce a war?"

The Top of the Cock

Michelle, Jared and I went out for some Thai food today down by Michigan Ave. Then we ventured on up to the Signature Room at the top of the Hancock Building. The weather was perfect today so the view was incredible. (And they're right, the best view is from the women's restroom!!)
It's been a mission of mine since I moved here to go up to the top and drink a martini. Finally I can cross that off my list!
Welcome to Chicago Jared. Can't wait to hang out again!!

What the Crap?!

What the crap?! It's Pete's birthday and I can't even have a drink with him tonight!

Happy Birthday, Pete. Thanks for being so sexy. :)
