The Double Door

Last night was a late night. Indignant was playing at The Double Door, so we all headed on over to check out the show.
I like watching the Paddy-shuffle and a night with Sarah is always so much fun.
Have fun moving to Saganausch, Canada!

oh yeah, guess what i figured out how to do on my digital camera? take black and white photos! i've had this camera for over a year and it just keeps getting cooler with each passing day! and just imagine, if i would have taken the time to read the instruction manual when i first purchased the camera i wouldn't be constantly surprised with all the cool things it can do. :)

Broken

OK, I try to be a nice person most of the time but it's gotten to the point that I'm just gonna have to be mean. And blunt. So here goes:
The man who wrote the book "He's Just Not that Into You" (great book by the way) also wrote this book, "It's Called a Break-Up Cause It's Broken". This is also a good book. I suggest you read it.
It basically states that the reason why relationships fail, or why people break-up, is because the relationship is broken. It doesn't work. It's not happening. Simple as that.

So Mr. Anonymous Comment - move on already! It's been 2 years, we only dated for 1 month. It was Broken! What the hell makes you think I want to hang out now?!?!

From a Whisper to a Scream

It's a late night at work tonight and I'm not near being finished. Ugh. Thank God for Ipods. Josh, remember the mixed tape you made me when I left LA? Well, it's what is saving me from going completely insane.
OK, I'm done procrastinating now.

FutureSex/LoveSound

I got a copy of Justin Timberlake's new album, FutureSex/LoveSound, today. I like the electronica sound but when he mixes it with the rap (Eminem-esque song in the mix) it's a thumb down from me.
I've listened to the first 10 tracks and there were a couple I fast-forwarded through, but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the first track, 'FutureSex/LoveSound'. Good God, it's hot. (And I detect a sample from the song "Another One Bites the Dust".)

And I don't give a shit if he's from a boy band, JT is f*ckin' hott. Damn.

Damn.

The Chopping Block

Kim cut my locks again and she did an AWESOME job! It feels soooo good to cut off the long hair. I was so sick of wearing a pony tail every day. Here's to short hair!
Thanks, Kim!!

Writer's Workshop

This is the new book I'm reading. Kim Edwards, the author of "The Memory Keeper's Daughter", graduated from The University of Iowa's Writer's Workshop. Woot!
AND her hubby's family is from Newton, Iowa. Which is where my family lives.

I like the book. The writing style reminds me a lot of Sue Monk Kidd's. I give it two thumbs up! Way Up!

6 Feet Down Under

I am very sad about Steve Irwin's death. My love for the Crocodile Hunter began in 2000, right after I graduated from college. Laine, who worked with me at the time, and I would entertain ourselves at work by imitating the Crocodile Hunter. "It's the most dangerous crocodile in the wooorrlllddd. And we're going to brush it's teeth!"

I am very sad. We've lost a great animal-rights activist and a passionate environmentalist. I feel sad for his wife too. I feel like I know her! I mean, I did watch her give birth to their daughter, Bindi!

RIP - Steve. You'll be missed.

Cape Fear

Sunday, Pete, Joy and I drove over to Willmington to do some exploring. We drove the neighborhoods and looked at some of the older architecture and homes. Then we parked the car downtown and walked some shops and the boardwalk. Then we drove over to the intracoastal for dinner at BlueWater. Our table overlooked the water and we had an amazing view of the sunset.
It was wonderful!

Get Down, Get Down

Only Pete would have a dance-off at a gas station. I think we pissed off the locals. :)
