It's No Hassle At All

I went to Wrigleyville on Friday night to see a band. Besides circling for 20 minutes to find a parking spot, everything else went fairly smoothly.
Josh - that photo of Wrigleyfield was taken just for you. I hope you are having fun with the last few weeks on location and I can't wait to see you in Los Angeles in December. Please tell Will that I send my best.

My Mama is a Teenager

this photo was taken when my mom was 13 years old. she's the one on the right, with the white sweater. my aunt jane, dark hair and barette, had just turned sweet 16.
those are my grandparents holding hands on the sofa.

Damn it, you guys should come check this band out! So it's in the middle of hell (aka land of the popped collar and chandelier earring). Who cares! The music, go for the music! Support local artists.

And! Support me, damn it! Some friends (humph) let me walk into hell/Wrigleyville on my own.

Last time I went to Wrigleyville was for the fake bachelorette party that Laine and I threw. Best fundraising idea ever. If anyone else out there needs to pay for some last minute plane tickets and bleacher seats for a Cubs game, throw yourselves a bachelorette party. Pure. Genius.

Nice Shoes, Wanna Fuck?

all i wanted was a nice pair of ballet flats. i have searched for 4 weeks for these and can not find them.
specifically i wanted them to look like this: flats, round toe, suede, jewel-toned (any one would do, but i liked the idea of purple or saphirre), with a small embellishment on the toe. nothing over the top, just maybe a small bow or something.

these shoes exist only in my mind. so i bought these today, instead:

they are flat, round toe, velvet, chocolate brown, with a large embellishment. but hell, they were on sale so who cares.

Strike a Pose

Why keep score when we have dismounts to perfect?
And props are good too.

a conversation between Jimmy and Heather:

JIMMY: pulls a cigarette out of his pack
HEATHER: No, I couldn't.
JIMMY: lights cigarette
HEATHER: I haven't smoked in 4 months.
JIMMY: takes drag from cigarette
HEATHER: Alright, I'll have one.
JIMMY: chuckles

**dammit, i can't get the text to lay properly on this posting. sorry about the scattered words.**

Somebody's Getting Married!

Scott proposed to Juli last night! Yeah! I am so happy for both of them. I made an early morning call to New York City as soon as I got the email. I love New England weddings! And I love that Juli found someone who will love her the way she deserves to be loved. It gives me hope... :)

It's a good day!

Recess

I feel like I belong in a Shel Silverstein poem today. I feel playful and fun. It's beautiful outside: super-duper sunny, blue skies, and about 70 degrees. I went running over my lunch hour and got to play hopscotch with the geese crap on the sidewalk.
Recess is the best.

Respond with a Quote

I was chuckling last night (yes, i do chuckle) at the idea of responding to a sticky situation with a random movie quote. Let me give you an example:

Person A: You were supposed to have that report in yesterday! Why the hell is it late?
Person B: "You killed my father...prepare to die."

Doesn't that seem appropriate? and fun!
Let's try that again...

Person A: I must tell you something...even though you are married to my sister, I have fallen madly in love with you.
Person B: "You know I don't speak Spanish!"

It had me chuckling for awhile. I need a life.

Hash

Alex and I made sweet potato hash last night. It was delicious. But my favorite part was the walk to and from Whole Foods: lots of wonderful conversation, people watching the woman tripping in her high heels, and dodging cars in order stand in the middle of the street to get that perfect shot of the full moon.

Harmonizing

Chad and I spent our Saturday evening singing. He brought some rock and blues and I followed up with some gospel and opera. I did do a bit of rapping as well, and Chad pulled out both the accoustic and air guitar. And although we never sang together, we were harmonizing all night long.

24 hours

It started off at Nevin's and ended up with Precious. Baking pies from scratch is the best way to get over a Friday night with The Jerk Club.

I was only acting!

This is my mom, Sue, on the day that I was born.

She just found out that she got a part in this play:

I am super proud of her for not losing sight of her artistic side. Break a leg, mom!

Dinner Plans

At first I had a stalker. Then she became my friend. Now I have become her stalker. And we are going to celebrate all of this over dinner, Sunday night. I am happy girl. :)

King Pin

What is a Wednesday without a few strikes and gutters?
A big thanks goes out to Patrick for offering to be a sub on our team. **Please note his perfect form**

Our other sub, Ryan/Adam/Nancy, offered up his two cents on people who blog.
Him: "There are two types of people who blog: those who like being watched and those who want to be heard. Which one are you?"
Me: "Uhh...okay...I think it's my turn to bowl."

A Halloween Costume

I want to go as my 2-year-old nephew, Gavin.
*shiver* scary

Porn

Last night I watched a documentary about porn.

Yesterday my mom sent me an email concerned about how my postings mostly show me drinking. And if a nice, young man were to come along and see my blog he would probably walk away because he would think I was a drunk. (These weren't her exact words, but you get the point.)
I figure this posting should scare away any and all respectable young men out there.

Actually the documentary was pretty interesting. A bit skewed, but aren't most of them? It did have an interview with Gloria Steinem, which was enlightening, along with Pro-porn people too. Linda Lovelace was one strange lady though. They painted her in a very poor light, which they probably felt was ok since she is dead and can't defend herself.
According to this film, though, she is unable to think for herself.

Rife, sorry in my drunken haze i forgot that you were in the room. this does not mean that I will marry Jarvis. I don't care how tall he is.
